Equine Podiatry Seminar brochure coverAuburn University College of Veterinary Medicine is offering a Short Course in Equine Podiatry for veterinarians, farriers, and horse owners, Saturday and Sunday, October 30-31, 2010. The Equine Podiatry Weekend will be held on the campus of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Auburn, Alabama, at the John Thomas Vaughan Large Animal Teaching Hospital.

Topics include: Equine Metabolic Syndrome (Insulin Resistance), Cushing’s Disease, Underrun Heels, Application and Uses of Equicast. See the brochure online for a detailed schedule.

Conference Registration Fees: $300 for Veterinarians, $200 for Farriers, and $125 for the general public before October 10. Fees increase by $50 after October 10 (Fee includes meals).

One day only registration fee: $200 before October 10, $250 after October 10.

Note: This conference will supply 20 hours of CE to attendees.

Polocrosse playersDid you know that the Huntsville area has a large, active polocrosse club, with members of all ages?

This year the Tennessee Valley Polocrosse Club is hosting the American Polocrosse Association National Championship Tournament at Harvest Farm in Harvest, AL, Fri-Sun, October 8-10. Come out and watch a game, learn about the local club, and visit the vendors onsite!

Game Times: Tournament games to begin early on Friday and continue through Saturday. Sunday may be for finals only, depending on number of players.

Go north on Highway 53 from Huntsville to 1st flashing light past the Anderson Hills subdivision. Turn left onto Harvest Road. Go 1 mile, watch for ‘Harvest Farm’ sign and turn left onto property.
