Join us for a hands-on clinic designed to introduce horse owners to the basics of barefoot hoof trimming.
Whether your goal is to touch up trims between visits from a professional or to take over hoof care duties for your herd entirely, this clinic will get you started off on the right foot – er, hoof!
Not quite ready to pick up a rasp yet? Audit the clinic to become a more educated consumer of hoof care services – learn about healthy hoof anatomy and function, how to decide when your horse needs hoof care, and how to recognize a balanced hoof.
What will you learn in this clinic?
We’ll cover how to perform a maintenance trim on a horse with healthy feet – starting with classroom time covering theory, hoof structure, pathology, and trimming basics – and winding up with a supervised hands-on trimming session.
Who will teach the clinic?
Instructors Katrin Klemm, Audra Cook, and Leitha Lee will be on hand to answer questions, teach the classroom session, and coach trimmers during the hands-on practice.
Clinic includes:
- classroom time with a mix of learning activities and interactive demos
- hoof trimming demonstration with Q&A
- hands-on practice – trim at least one hoof from start to finish
